Man this place was GOOOOOD. I quickly learned upon arriving at Block Island that you are not there for the food, you are there for every reason other than food aka to be on a gorgeous island, enjoy the beach, relax, explore nature, not to have a cosmopolitan dining experience. Which honestly I am okay with and its kind of nice that while you are vacation to not be worrying about trying all of the culinary delights of the area you are staying in. It eliminates the pressure of having to find the best place to eat because you may end up with mediocre food wherever you go. Sorry for the rant but just saying this is not a foodie town-- its a place to disconnect. My boyfriend and I were exploring the harbor around lunch time one day and this kind of seems like the only place to eat around there, which I'm okay with! Yeah its pricey but it was wayy delicious. As mentioned I really wasn't expecting much as far as food for the long weekend I was in BI, but this place was a real surprise. The restaurant is newly updated and super cheerful and bright inside. I had the summer shrimp salad, which honestly was one of the best salads I've had all year. It was grilled shrimp that was slightly charred in a good way on top of grilled corn, melon, tomatoes, cucumbers, and onions. Everything in the salad was really fresh. I got the cucumber smash which was perfect and not overly sweet at all. I left feeling full and like my meal had been really healthy. Then I wanted to come back here for all my remaining meals that weekend. We sat inside on the porch because it was chilly, but if I am ever on Block Island in the summer and its warmer (which I hope I am!) I will try my hardest to get back here for dinner and the sunset :)

Aside from the wonderful view due to its location on Block Island, there was nothing super special about this place for me. The food was ok. I had a hot lobster roll, while my boyfriend got the Dead Eye Burger, which had fried clams on it. Both were alright. There was more than enough food, but it was nothing particularly special. The drinks were ok, but the service a bit slow. They were pretty busy with the Labor Day weekend crowd, but we were there towards the end so it was starting to wind down a little.

I've tried many restaurants on Block Island and for a long time I was reluctant to try Dead Eye Dicks because I was under the impression it was kinda dumpy and divey. I thought that for two reasons 1) simply because of it's name and 2) because this restaurant is repeatedly advertised on the ferry boat ride from New London. Their "Come for the view, stay for the view" slogan is engrained into every passenger's brain through the ferry's loud speaker. So it can't be very nice, right? Well I was wrong. Dead Eye Dicks is actually a very nice, clean and airy restaurant. It has a large outdoor porch and a large inside dining room. There's a medium sized bar area with stools and a few high tables. The menu is definitely slanted towards seafood which isn't a bad thing for this seafood loving guy. I had the fish tacos and they were very good. My only complaint was that they were a tad bit watery. Where the water came from, I don't know. I think the water came from either the salsa or the cole slaw. Throughout my Saturday visit the service was excellent. One word of caution about the timing. I believe the kitchen closes between the hours of 3 and 5 o'clock. That's very typical in Europe by the way. PS: This restaurant is located on the New Harbor side of the island. There's basically two distinct villages on the island; New Harbor and the much bigger Old Harbor. Most ferries dock into the Old Harbor.

A real Lobster roll!!!!!!!!! Its so nice that they ask you if you want it cold or hot of course hot with butter no mayo! and real whole pieces of lobster! This place is exactly what you are looking for on block, and if you want more elegant you are on the wrong island. This place is the perfect lunch Off the strip, but a beautiful view good drink selections great food. pretty much upscale bar food, but the best lobster roll on the island great gem

We just stopped in for drinks really quick before catching the ferry back. My wife got sangria and I had to try the pain killer which was almost as good as Donovan's out in Oak Bluffs. Can't wait to come back again!

Only came here for drinks along our adventures on Block Island, since we decided to walk through the entire island instead of doing the suggested moped or bike rental. This resulted in us being super thirsty, and just in the nick of time, we found dead eye dicks. There really isn't anywhere on this picturesque island that doesn't have a beautiful view and great location, but this restaurant seems to take the cake on waterfront dining. We were greeted by the manager with a hearty welcome, and were allowed to sit anywhere we wanted. They have quite a bit of indoor dining, but the clutch spot is to sit on the wraparound deck on the waterside. Our waitress was a spunky, enthusiastic lady, who made our experience here even that much better. We all had drinks, two sampled local CT brews, and my husband and I tried the handcrafted cocktails. The Cucumber Smash was hands down the best of the bunch, fresh, light, and rejuvenating. I had the RBH (rose before hoes), with 4 roses burbon which was flavorful and heavy, and would have suited a meal better than a sipper on a hot day. Definitely would return here if we revisited block island, with great views, interesting flavor palates on their menu, and excellently friendly staff.

Deadeye Dick's. It's a simple but nice looking place with a gorgeous view of the bay in Block Island. The food is solid. I got their Deadeye Burger and boy, is it one of the better burgers I've ever had. Topped with cute fried oysters and melted cheese, the top bun lathered with what I'm guessing is mayo and relish. Mmmm. And that moist firm patty. Yussss. My boyfriend got the swordfish rueben which was good, but the portions were small. I gotta say, this restaurant definitely does fries well. Mwah! I wish I had room for their famous cheese fries! But the food was great, service was super nice, and let me also say, their clientele was super nice too! If you're looking for a nice place to eat on Block Island without the tourist trap feeling, this is the place to do it. And get a patio seat of you can!!

Quick Hits: - Excellent food for great prices - Nice menu that satisfies those looking for seafood or something else - Great outdoor area with a nice view of the New Harbor Full Scoop: My wife and some friends visited Dead Eye Dick's while biking on Block Island for the day. It was a Tuesday around 1:00, and the restaurant was fairly empty. We ended up getting a great seat outdoors with a wonderful view of the harbor. We started with the Lobster Bisque, Oysters and Calamari. All 3 were very good and noticeably very fresh. I got the steak sandwich for my entree which was great, but it had a bit too much cheese on it for my liking. Fries were also very good. Everyone else at the table also really enjoyed their food. Next time I am lucky enough to be on Block Island, I will definitely visit Dead Eye Dick's for the good food and exceptional views.

My friends and I had lunch here on a Saturday, and it was very nice. We sat outside on their deck overlooking the water, which was beautiful. I had the cold lobster roll, which was huge and had a lot of lobster meat. It was delicious and came with fries. My friend had the lobster BLT, which she loved. The service was great. I would definitely return.

First night into town and the best way to kick off a vaca was on the patio overlooking the harbor. The service was great as we were told 20 minutes for a wait and were seated in 10. The waitress was awesome and made great recommendations as she was easy going and working hard to keep everyone on the deck happy! The lobster and raw bar selection were fresh and filling! But the best part of the night was the apple cobbler! Wholly apples and loaded with crunchy oatmeal goodness! Great work for an amazing start to a long needed vacation! Thank you!

The view is fantastic, the service good. But I was truly unimpressed with the quality of seafood. While the presentation was strong--jumbo shrimp in a bloody! They were completely lacking in flavor. My friend and I split the lobster roll and would say the same. While it was an ample quantity of lobster meat, the quality was subpar. Yummy clam chowder but arrived cold. Points off for weak bloodys ($13 on block island..strong be stronger) Ambiance-4 Food-2

I haven't that many lobster rolls in my life, but this one was definitely the best. Lots of lobster, perfectly toasted roll, lobster marinated side of butter and wonderful fries. The atmosphere was a little lacking hence only 4 stars. The service was fine. Everything on their menu looked wonderful.

I ordered swordfish sandwich, It was burnt. My husband ordered oyster po boy and there were very few oysters. Cocktail drink was also not good. I will not come back here.

We had a nice end of summer lunch here. We took the ferry and rode our bikes to Dead Eye Dick's for about 12:30pm on a Wednesday. The place was not crowded and we appreciated that we were away from the dock in Old Harbor where the crowds were. We were promptly seated outside and beverages arrived quickly. DDE's has some nice local beers on tap that they rotate. I started with a wedge salad that was lightly dressed and a step above steakhouse fare. Lettuce was crisp and high quality as were the surrounding vegetables. I then had an appetizer for my meal: tuna tartar. This came looking a little pale in color but turned out to be very good if not seasoned a bit too much for my taste. My son had his signature RI dish, fried calamari. He said it was good but not great and I confirmed his review with a taste. The calamari was fresh but the fry oil may not have been. Still, he ate the whole plate. Throughout our meal, the service was friendly and attentive. We appreciated the laid back style of the place. The music was good and atypical. We will have to come back and try it when it is peak season to see how they handle the crowds.

Delicious lobster roll; I think I liked the cold better than warm lobster roll. The clam chowder was great. Nice view on the deck. Great music.

The best lobster rolls ever. Side of cheesey fries please. The food is always great, the staff is very friendly. We have been here two years in a row and it continues to be great. Would have given 5 stars had it not been for the fact that my husband tried it by himself, sat at the bar and was ignored by the bartender, waited for 20 minutes and left without being served. You can't blame one bad egg .

Dead Eye's is an institution. And if you are on your boat in the harbor -- GSP -- it is a logical place to hit for dinner. We did not have to wait long for a party of six. We got to sit outside. They were great at describing the many options. We sat on the deck and had a sunset view. I totally enjoyed the experience. The staff was attentive.

The Lobster BLT was the bomb. Husband had the swordfish Reuben and loved it. Kids menu was nice - added bonus: came with crayons and they colored in the menu- drinks served with lids. Kids meals came with a side of mandarin oranges. Our waiter was terrific - this is not his first rodeo, clearly!! Beautiful spot, tasty food, good for kids...winner, winner, chicken dinner!!

My fiancé and I have been here several times and have always enjoyed the food, atmosphere and service! It is located right on the water and the seafood is fresh and delicious! We recommend the ceviche for an app and the lobster roll!!! We LOVED our waitress Sylvia. She was professional and gave us two complimentary glasses of champagne the day we got engaged. We highly recommend Dead Eye Dicks!

  • Pilgrim C.

Another great experience here. This time, we were able to get outdoor seating, and on a pleasant night, you can't beat the view of the sunset. We ordered the bombay shrimp as an appetizer, and the shrimp were very tender and tasty. My partner coupled the calamari and the RI clam chowder as an entree. He thought the chowder was particularly good with a nice shellfish flavor. The calamari was cooked very well, and the sweet chili sauce was a nice accent, but the alioli was a little bland. I had the snapper. The fish was cooked to perfection, but the sides in this dish need a little work--the potatoes were well cooked, but offered no other discernable flavors, and the summer squashes were also minimally seasoned, and also a bit underdone. This restaurant offers some creative twists on old favorites and a solid range of options on the menu. It is well worth a visit, and we look forward to returning in the future.

Holy cow!!!!! What I great dinner my wife and I had!!!! In my wife's words.."That dinner was F%×÷/^& excelent" Calamari was the best so far on BI. She had the Starlet Chicken...it was great, very moist. On the plate was some fresh broccoli & some great macaroni n cheese. Speaking of cow, I had the hanger steak w/ fries. It was GREAT!!!!!! Steak was severed over a pile of their hand-cut fries and with the sauce it was sooooo good Will definitely eat there again next year!!!!!

The cold lobster roll was enormous, with light mayo and a hint of dill. It was on a grilled brioche roll that wa a delicious. We sat outside on the patio and enjoyed the view of New Harbor. Definately worth a visit.

If you are looking for a casual place to have a burger and beer, please try this long time Block Island local and tourist favorite. While most folks will tell you to try the Lobster Roll, which is very good, but I recommend go for their Lobster Avocado BLT which IMHO tops it all. If they ever take that off the menu I will cry...no, really. If you plan on bringing someone special, I recommend you to arrive 60 minutes before the sunset and get an outside table. You will be rewarded with a beautiful sunset by the time the dessert arrives. Also dress warm, it's can be deceptively chilly once the sun sets.

Ate lunch here this past Thursday as part of a day trip to the island. After a particularly unsavory experience at a neighboring restaurant we came upon dead eye dicks to get some lunch. The service was absolutely phenomenal. We were seated immediately and within 5 minutes someone came to take our order. Our server Tara was not only kind and helpful with menu suggestions but fast and funny as well. Already leagues ahead of our previous lunch attempt. We ordered our food and drinks at the same time. The bloody Mary's are delicious. Nice and spicy and they come with a jumbo shrimp garnish. We ordered an oyster sampler which was $25 and also had some cheese fries which are probably the most delicious cheese fries we've ever tasted. My friend and I agreed. They have a sort of Alfredo cheese sauce and then sprinkled parm on top and you can add bacon for $2. We also tried the ginger honey margarita which was positively phenomenal. Sweet in a honey way yet also refreshingly light. The view from the deck is quite lovely as well. Would return again and recommend highly to friends!

This place has, perhaps, the best lobster roll I have ever had. While they offer both hot and cold lobster rolls, this review is about their hot lobster roll. It is simple -- a very tasty roll filled with lobster meat and a side of butter sauce. Nothing else. No mayonnaise, no celery or anything else to clutter and dilute the lobster. The meal came with french fries. We sat out on the deck overlooking a scenic view of a marina leading to the ocean.

The salmon with fruit orzo was great and so was my wife's wasabi tuna. The real star was the oyster with mango salsa and creamy sriracha. Bad thing open for dinner from 1700 to 2130 so if you walk from the beach to the restaurant you will wait more to eat only to find it's not open.

Went with a party of 12 and we were seated right away. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the service (Abby) was great. Was our parents 55th anniversary that night and not a better place to celebrate it.

Can't say enough about this place. You MUST get the hot lobster roll. It's the best I've ever had hands down. We also tried the lobster bisque and the wedge salad which were both good. The setting on the water is so romantic and a perfect date night location.

Great service, interesting menu, beautiful view, can't ask for more than that! Try the Bloody Mary, their own mix. Salads sandwiches and fries were good. Loved the calamari! New harbor is a cool spot away from standard block island nuttiness!

My husband had the fish and chips, which was really excellent. I had the lobster avocado blt. First of all, let me say that the mere existence of a lobster avocado blt is awesome! The bacon was crispy and there was lots of lobster. My only complaint is that they put raw onion in the lobster salad. I realize lobster salad is ubiquitous in New England, and I don't fault them for trying to make theirs stand out. But raw onion just overpowers the lobster, which is not a strong-flavored seafood. As a lobster lover, I was disappointed. Otherwise, a great experience.

Went to Dead Eye Dicks last night. I'd say it was a notch or two below our usual experience, mainly because my swordfish was not that good. It was really dry and a little tough. Probably should have sent it back, but I don't do that unless it's not edible. My wife had the tuna which she said was excellent. And our server (I think her name was Kelly) was great.

Great place, right on the water, we go there every time we are on Block Island, I had fresh Striped Bass so good, My wife has the lobster roll every time her favorite, the kids love it there to, casual and easy, you have to go there!!

  • Jenna E.

Very disappointed with our dinner here. Fish and chips tasted as though the fish was frozen which hello you are on a freaking island where fresh fish should be readily available. Not a typical fish and chips with the Panko breading- made it heavy and fell right off the rubbery tasting fish. Not what we were expecting or liked. Hanger steak was mediocre. Lobster roll was only thing that was okay. Service was good. View is pleasant. Not the best of the island but ok. Better seafood can be found elsewhere on the island.

Come here every year usually on the first day of our summer vacation. Seems to get better every year. Come for the amazing sunsets on the deck but enjoy the food which is great especially the seafood. The service is attentive and they make changes if there are any preferences. I asked them to hold the walnuts on my salad which they did.

  • Jamey B.

Seafood is fab-u-lous, and the service was great. We arrived before opening at noon (were the first seated) and the deck was full by 12:15. That said, there was plenty of space inside for the duration of our lunch. It is kid friendly for lunch, but has a solid bar inside so I can see it as a great place at night, too. Very convenient to the new harbor. The lobster was excellent - generous portion, sweet, not overwhelmed by the butter. The lobster, bacon and avocado sandwich is inspired. Delectable. Service was attentive but not pushy. They allowed us plenty of time to make decisions, look through the menu, etc.

Who turns away a large party? After months of planning my family and I arrived on Block Island. We choose a handful of establishments to dine at during our week long stay here on Block Island. Dead Eye Dicks made our top three list of seafood establishments Nearly 20 minutes ago (July 29, 2013) my party arrived at Dead Eye Dicks ready to eat all the seafood we heard so much about. We asked them to sit outside and they said they could not accommodate us, party of ten, outside because it would over lap sections therefore messing up the server rotation. So if I understand this right, you turn away a potential $350 tab because it would mess up the server rotation, please tell me how that is beneficial to the servers. five people in my party have or is currently working in the service, food and beverage industry, including a food & beverage manager for the hospitality industry. this is not unusual. What I didn't understand is that they were willing to move tables to seat us inside. It was 5:00 PM and the place was empty. We will be on this Island for seven more days and Dead Eye Dicks is no longer on our radar; even when we split up into smaller groups suitable for Dead Eye Dick's seating arrangements. Pretty much made my not ever list when on Block Island. It is a small island, but plenty of places to take our money somewhere else. Thanks Aldo's for accommodating me, and my Italian family that night witih our $500 dinner tab. Good job looking out for your waitstaff. P.S. Thank You Harry's for also accomidating a large party and another big tab. Again good job taking care of your waitstaff Dick's.

An oasis amongst the overpriced restaurants and sea shacks peppered throughout the island, Dead Eye Dick's is a great destination for lunch or dinner. There's a great selection of food, and the cocktails are really good as well. I indulged in a hot lobster roll... The buttery goodness is indescribable. The portions are quite generous as well. Although perhaps not within quick walking distance from the ferry, it's totally worth getting a bike (which you're probably going to do anyway), and jetting on over here.

Absolutely delicious. Firecracker shrimp, salt and pepper calamari, Lobster truffle fettuccine, swordfish, red sangria, brownie sundaes... All of it delicious. Great waitress (Tara), great view, five stars no question. A little bit of a wait for dessert but the staff was gracious, along with the view and company no one seemed to mind.

Had the fish tacos and the lobster avacado blt, both were very good. The blt had large chunks of fresh lobster on it. Definitely worth stopping in if you're on the block.

Spacious restaurent with great views of the new harbor. The seafood and chowders were excellent . They also have a nice bar areas with tables and a good selection of draft beers and wines. Went with a part of six -and recommend sitting outside on their spacious deck. Overall a very comfortable, yet slightly upscale place. Our meals were excellent and its easy to understand why it is a favorite of the locals. Our waiter Sean was excellent and provided us with first class service and recommendations, and the food arrived promptly. Will definitely return on our next visit.

The clam chowder was excellent! I had the lobster fettuccine which was very good. My husband had a seafood platter which was also good. The service was a little slow in the beginning but got better. The food is pricey but good. We sat out side which was very nice. My husband wanted clam cakes to dip in his clam chowder but they did not have them on the menu.

The worst. The waitress didn't know the menu and had to keep asking in the back. The fish is not fresh and to serve farm raised fish on an island is sad. Had to send food back because it was unacceptable. Will never go back.

When on Block Island - do as the locals do and head to DED's - you won't be disappointed! Yummy cocktails - check. Amazing view - check. Fabulous tuna tartar appetizer- check. Finger-licking-good lobster BLT ($17)- check. Friendly and fast service - check. This is a "must" for lunch especially as it is reasonably priced.

Horrible!!! We sat ten to fifteen minutes before the four top to our right. We had a soup and cheese fries as apps. Quick fire food. The four top to our right, nice guys, ordered got their beers and entrees and paid the bill before we ever got our meals. Here's the kicker! I ordered a RAW seafood platter, 2 clams, 2 mussels, 2 poached shrimp, and a lobster claw. My wife ordered a veggie plate with the addition of a grilled chicken breast. We were approached by the manager to say how sorry she was about the ticket time, however gave us nothing in return. Didn't even offer to buy my beer! The chicken breast was cooked beyond dead, not even CPR could have saved it, the risotto was about as dry and bland as I have ever seen. Cauliflower was cooked well, sorry to say it was the best part of the meal. Not worth the wait or the money! 87.00. And we left with a feeling of disappointment and a feeling like we had just been robbed!

We love it here. Had the best nicious salad here (and I had one in Nice)!!! My daughter had surf and turf and the lobster was sweet and cooked perfectly. Not chew. The filet. Ditto Our waiter Nicolas was pleasant and attentive! Would definitely come back.

What food I had was actually pretty good. That was until my girlfriend found a hair in her salad. I know that kind of thing happens now and then but, taking the salad off the bill was the only response. Gee thanks for not making me pay for the hirsute dish! I couldn't finish my meal after seeing that.

Great place! Nice, cozy ambiance! I came here with my family of five and fiancé. Everyone enjoyed their meals....I highly recommend the clam chowder and spinach salad. My fiancé thought his surf and turf was the best he ever had...as did my dad regarding the fish fry. A real gem!

Great location and views from outdoor covered deck. Ambiance does not really match the price level but food is generally good and service was very attentive. if you don't care about your diet - order cheesy fries. very rewarding and tasty treat :) my lobster tortellini had a generous amount of of lobster but dish was way too heavy on cream and cheese in the sauce. tasted good, but got cold too fast and turned into cold fatty mass which i didn't care to finish. Another dish - eggplant stack was good with a nice pesto flavored pasta with fresh tomatoes, but breading on eggplant was too "factory like" and bottom piece was too thick and not cooked through. Another person's salad was perfect and very delicious. Overall OK.

OK, having past this place for the few years(was not a big fan of their participation in a group of mainland eateries) The meals were real good, chic dinner, although not a 1/2 bird was sided with good mashed, lobster salad on greens was excellent, nicely dressed an full claw among the pieces, RI style chowda a bit watery, full of chopped guags, potatoes soft, crab cakes as described, lots of real crab meat, little fillers, nice crisp on both sides, lobster roll best yet at our table, way ahead of the crap one at the National, and better than the one at the Surf, nice job folks.

  • Kate M.

My husband and I went to Dead Eye Dick's for dinner. I ordered the "surf and turf" and my husband ordered the lobster bake. Traditionally, surf and turf is a filet and baked, stuffed shrimp or lobster. Here, it was grilled shrimp and they were the same size as the shrimp cocktail. Only one was a bit larger, they must have run out because for $34.00 this was a joke. Then, the filet was so overdone it looked like leather. I sent it back because I ordered it medium/medium rare. When it came back, it was "blurple" and I think it still had a pulse! I sent it back again and two minutes later, it was back, same color but this time had a sauce over it. Hmmmmm. I asked the manager to take it off the bill and her snarky remark of, "I am sorry we couldn't get it to your satisfaction..." sealed the deal. Cook the steak correctly the first TWO times and I would have eaten it. Then, she only refunded me $8.00! We joked and wondered if we went back, could we order the $8.00 filet?? So, for $26.00 I got four paltry grilled shrimp and some veggies!! What a deal! My husband's lobster bake was very good and their cocktails, (especially the basil, cucumber smash) are delicious. My only other issue is the bussing staff. They hovered like vultures and as soon as you put your fork down, they swooped down and asked if they could clear. They cleared my plate and silverware so quickly that I had nothing to eat my steak with when it came back the second time. It was almost as if they were in competition to see who could clear more plates in a night! That was really annoying and makes one feel rushed. The view on their deck is great and the décor is also quite inviting. It's not the worst place for dinner but it is definitely not the best place on the island!

We came here on the recommendations of our fellow helpers and had a great experience. The restaurant is down by the docks on block island which ample outdoor seating overlooking the water. Our server was fantastic. Very knowledgeable about the menu and made some great recommendations. We started with a shrimp cocktail & Caesar salad. Although both standard dishes, they were very good regardless. For our entrees, I had the scallops with mashed potatoes & asparagus. I felt this dish was a bit bland. Some scallops were better seasoned than others but overall I wouldn't get this dish again. My husband had the lobster bake which he was very happy with. The corn it came with was very fresh. The clams and shrimp were perfect as well. For dessert we had cheesecake which was directly from juniors, how could you go wrong. Overall, it was a nice night. I would come back but would try something different.

The atmosphere at Dead Eye's is great. The lighting is lovely and the porch overlooks the water. The restaurant is set off to the side of the salt pond and can easily be missed by those who are focusing their time around the old harbor. My husband and I only visited Dead Eye's once even though we sail to BI every year, but we would visit again. We both had the lobster and loved it. Our server was great and dessert was delicious! It was a bit chilly on the porch after sunset, so remember a light jacket!

In a word... "wow" Everything from the heaping bowl of clam chowder ($6) to the crab cakes with lemon aioli ($12) to the best (and closest to authentic) mojito ($8) I've had this side of Havana, Dead Eye Dick's started strong and continued to impress as the night went along. Service was excellent - attentive but not hovering. Our dinners consisted of seared salmon over orzo with summer squash and zucchini ($24) and mussels and clams with a tomato, chorizo, butter, and white wine sauce served with focaccia for dipping ($12 - appetizer portion), topped off with a slice of Junior's cheesecake ($7). The salmon was superb and the shellfish liquor was so good I gulped it down like a soup once all the bread was gone. Even without the advertised sunset (it was an extremely cloudy evening), the combination of service, food, and ambiance created an amazing dining experience.

I have been a summer island girl since I was a baby. Headed to Dead Eye's after hearing it underwent an overhaul. The food was AMAZING. Not the Dead Eye's I remember. The ambience was great, the service was top notch, and most of all the food was perfect. We indulged in the swordfish and cod. Both were fresh and well cooked. The sides were perfectly matched and not undercooked or oversalted as you frequently find on the island. I'll be back soon!

Aside from a plastic beer tap cover floating in my draft, the Clams and mussels appetizer was pretty good. Though I kept a 'Dead Eye' on any other extraneous articles in this dish. Oh, BTW, they should have turned on the heat on this chilly Sept eve. Everyone had their jackets and sweaters on.

This was our most enjoyable meal on BI. The food was all excellent, and reasonably priced. The ingredients were all fresh, and the sunset view from the patio was extraordinary. All in all, a great and friendly dining experience.

Lobster avocado Blt on marble rye. Get it!!! They pack on the lobster and the flavors are delish! It made the walk from the harbor so worth it.one of my friends ordered the lobster roll and she couldn't stop raving about it. My other friend ordered the fish po boy which she said was pretty good as well. They have an outdoor searing area overlooking the pond. Perfect on a nice summer day.

At first i was skeptical about going to Dead Eye Dick's because I was afraid it was just another family friendly tourist trap, but my boyfriend and I decided to go check it out anyways. We walked from Old Harbor which was a good hike, but it turned out to be SO WORTH IT! When we got there it was sunset and the view was really pretty from the restaurant. We opted to skip the 40min wait for a table and sat at the bar instead. Best decision we made because we got to chit chat with the bartenders and also got to mingle with a BI local who was sitting at the bar next to us- great guy named Jim who runs the water taxi. For an app we ordered the steamed mussels/clams in garlic/wine broth with focaccia bread which was TO DIE FOR. There were small pieces of spicy chorizo in it that gave the whole dish a unique flavor. At the end, I literally broke the bread up into the broth and ate it like soup, lol. THAT good. I had the swordfish for dinner which was fresh and tasty- you could really taste the fish because it wasn't overly spiced and had no sauce. The sweet potato hash it comes with was just as good as the fish. My boyfriend got the surf/turf which just spoke for itself. HUGE portion, lobster meat juicy and soft, steak cooked perfectly. Mmmmm. We recommend this place, as we had our best meal on the island here :) Manager Teddy was a nice guy!

Friendly, honest and attentive service. The lobster BLT (at lunch) is the best. They put a generous amount of fresh lobster on. And they have a good/fun drink menu.

Labor day weekend on Block and the end of Summer before the mass exodus - but Dicks was still well crowded for a Sunday (although by 10 PM they were putting the stools on the bar). We started with oysters and clams on the half shells, chowder and clam cakes. We asked for the cocktail sauce to be kicked up a notch - the waiter brought fresh horseradish. That'll do the trick but would have also liked tabasco. The clam cakes were terrific. The chowder loaded with clams but lacked distintive flavor. Still quite good but not out of the ordinary. For the dinners we got Swordfish, Tuna, Summer Shrimp Salad and the Steak Fritas. The little one got the pasta with butter. All were very good and we all tried each others. The winner thou, was the Tuna. Perfectly done with sweet potato mashed. The lobster mashed potatos and asperagus with the Swordfish was the best side. Lastly - the service was exceptional. The martini's, beers and drinks arrived quickly and the presentation of food and drink was well noted. Would go back in an eye blink. Alas - that may have to wait for after Memorial Day.

Spot on !! They just know how to do it right here. The apps, salads, soups and entrees all prepared superbly! Cocktails and wines reasonably priced and served quickly, The hostess was bland with the "I'm too cool to care" attitude. Just the opposite was Ashley the waitress was top notch. She has waited on us before and we will ask for her table in the future she is so good. This is a restaurant that knows how to do it right.

Very delicious food, good staff. I ordered lobster bisque and cold lobster roll and crab cakes for appetizer. All dishes were above average. Lots of lobster! Definitely A+

Nice airy dining option on BI with reasonable mark-ups. We started with lobster bisque, which was very heavy on cream, but nonetheless good. It was lukewarm and I prefer pipping hot when it comes to soup. I would have sent it back to heat up more, but my hubby was already eating it when I got back from the restroom. It would have rocked if it was about 10 degrees warmer. The arugula salad with candied walnuts was delish. The complimentary Parmesan breadsticks were good but don't stock up on those, which is hard to do. I ordered the hot lobster roll. It wasn't all that. There wasn't much of the thick, juicy lobster tail meat, mostly claw meat. So, it failed to satisfy my lobster craving. It had some type of strange light breading and was soaking in butter. My hubby got the fried island shrimp as entree from the app menu. We both felt so greased out after that meal. I regret not ordering the cold lobster roll. The service was fairly prompt and courteous. Overall ok, but I'm not sure I'd go back though.

Great food...great view of the harbor from the porch...great service. (Sean we promised to mention you were a great waiter and we just did!). Definitely worth the walk from Old Harbor to New Harbor! I had a delicious lobster roll that was full of lobster and not mayo! My girlfriend had the chicken sandwich was also very good. It was my first trip to Block Island and lunch was one of the highlights!

Great restaurant away from the crowds. Very nice location in new harbor, right on the water. The dining room is lovely, but the patio has the best view. The food is excellent. Chowder was amazing! Everything we ordered was fabulous...surf and turf, lobster, swordfish. Good portions for the price and everything was cooked perfectly. Our server was excellent (the bartender was a little bizarre).

Absolutely delicious COLD lobster roll on a brioche bun that was toasted perfectly. A beautiful view from the outside porch....our waiter was wonderful and steered us into the right decision with the lobster roll.

I came on the night celebrating Bill Stubbs 350 year anniversary of something. I got to sit by the water, warm breeze and sun, but underneath the canopy. Some of the staff here were eastern European so they couldn't understand a word you said and had to relay everything to the English speaking staff. Something tells me they were just the bus and food runners. What I'm concerned with however is the quality of food and I can say the Hot Lobster Roll on Brioche Bun was pretty good. The Lobster Bisque Soup was probably my favorite of this whole trip. The soup was hot, rich and creamy. The staff seemed very attentive, and I liked their Parmesan and Garlic bread stick basket.

Love the new fancy-fied look of dead-eyes. Not the place I remember as a kid. In my opinion one of the best views of the salt pond. (with the exception of my house of course) Started with the calamari and tuna sashimi after a recommendation of my dad, it did not disappoint. Calamari was light and both had delicious dipping sauce. Had the swordfish, an all time favorite of mine and it was wonderfully fresh and tasty. My brother had the truffled lobster fettuccini that had an enormous amount of lobster, also very delicious. We were given a free dessert of NY cheesecake, it was to much for the 4 of us to finish. Drinks were yummy and service was very good. The only complaint I have is that it was a chilly night and the servers keep leaving the door open to the deck, even after we repeatedly reminded them they had sat us in the direct way of the draft. My stepmother got up a handful of times to shut the door.

Can't say enough about this place. You MUST get the hot lobster roll. It's the best I've ever had hands down. We also tried the lobster bisque and the wedge salad which were both good. The setting on the water is so romantic and a perfect date night location.

Very delicious food, good staff. I ordered lobster bisque and cold lobster roll and crab cakes for appetizer. All dishes were above average. Lots of lobster! Definitely A+

Friendly, honest and attentive service. The lobster BLT (at lunch) is the best. They put a generous amount of fresh lobster on. And they have a good/fun drink menu.

Thank you!
